An Event

I recently did a job for a Japanese company's dinner in celebration of a launch and the hotel rooms were really amazing. It was at the Legend International Water Homes in Port Dickson and the rooms on stilts had a private pool and mini pantry and a glass to look at the water below. Here are some pictures to share.

The beautiful sunset that day.

Bali Beach Fun June 2010

I feel fortunate to be working with AMP and having a paid vacation overseas every other year. This is my second time to Bali on company expenses and the experience was unforgettable - the good and the bad. We were there for 4 days, 3 nights and though the dizzy journeys from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to Kuta (for entertainment & food) or Ubud (for shopping) or even all the way to the volcano slopes were horrible, I still had my share of fun nonetheless at the company annual dinner and walking by the beach and of course, taking random shots of the sceneries.

From the windows of the plane to the bus:

The awesome Nikko Hotel Bali room which is about RM800 per night:

The 'chun' view from my room balcony:

Lotus flowers by the lobby:

Some blocks of the hotel:

The pool from the observation deck on the 15th floor:

Peddlers were everywhere and I must warn you to totally ignore them as they are pretty cunning and dishonest. I pity the children but I guess in a poor country, everybody needs to earn a living.

One of the partially active volcanoes that took us 2.5 hours to reach the viewing slope:

A closer look at the hotel pool. It had a really fascinating slide too on the far left which is not in this pix:

The infamous Wiwaha Chapel where many weddings happen. It's beautiful but really small:

Condensation effect on my lens. Kinda like it.

Here's the famous Luwak Coffee which is said to be made from the stool of a 'musang' that only eats the best coffee in the world. It sold at RM120 per pack of 200gm. Below is the competitor brand which is much cheaper.

Overall, the trip was good minus the con I got myself into at the international airport, Ngurah Rai, in Bali where one of the duty free shop cheated me of RM150 with my purchase as she quoted the price in USD but billed me in Rupiah and my currency conversion failed me.

A word of advice, be really careful with your money and the locals there. Expensive lessons may be in store.

Hun Loong & Sook Ling

Hun Loong & Sook Ling will be walking down the aisle at picturesque St Andrews Church this coming 22 May 2010.

Two weeks back, Sam (of www.thedigitalshoebox.net) and I had the pleasure of shooting their pre-wedding at a secret location in Klang Valley and we all had fun throughout the few hours.

Thank God for the beautiful, rustic landscape and the good weather. Here are a mix of mine and Sam's shots:

Love these series of pictures! They're so adorable.

Both were really sporting as we asked them to practice walking on the tracks a few times. :)

She's so gorgeous, isn't she?

Love the children's natural expression. This was so impromptu for the village kids were loving   the chance to be part of our photos.

Love the lighting effects here too. :)

Can't wait to be at their wedding day. :)
