Judson & Getsy Lydia

My partner and I had a wonderful shoot at Judson & Getsy's wedding last 7 June 08. Judson is the drummer for the popular local band, Unabashed (you can check them out at http://www.weareunabashed.com/) while Getsy is also a budding drummer herself. Though the wedding was simple (without all the usual chinese chi-mui tricks and tea ceremony), there was lots of love in the air. The couple continued to smile throughout the long, tiring yet exciting new day. How adorable! My very best wishes to the newly weds!

Fascinating Minangkabau Trail

My initial plan was to capture the outskirts of town in hope of getting a good scenery image for my upcoming exhibition. Things don't always work out as planned so it seems. My friends and I took the scenic but winding road to Kuala Pilah, they in search of beautiful architectures, while I hoped to get my award winning landscape shot.

On the way to Kuala Pilah, my friend screeched to a stop when we spotted a large group of monkeys by the roadside. They were just scavaging for food and some seems to be mating. It was fun as I've never come so close to wild monkeys before. They were not afraid of humans so we snapped away.

As it was still early, my hope to get that landscape shot was not dashed yet. Before long, we reached Istana Sri Menanti in Kuala Pilah and while the guys were admiring the hand-crafted struture of the building, I took some shots at an abandon fireplace in the backyard.

When we left the palace, we wondered on down the road and came upon an old looking, deserted wooden house. It looked eerie but we still ventured around it and I got these shots:

Though the adventure ended thereafter, I was still pretty happy as I got to use my 70-200mm lense all the time and that was good practice. :)
