Though I'm already a manual setting user and also a story line slideshow maker, I still learnt some new things there esp about the accuracy of my Nikon D80 camera metering. I had tested the metering in my D70s before and it wasn't accurate so I assumed that D80 had the same problem and thus many of my pictures were a tat bit over-exposed when Louis banned us from chimping on one of the assignment shoots. I've always chimp to check on exposure but now that I know my camera better, it won't be so neccessary. Nonethless, I still had some really nice pictures out of the batch I took. Here's some of my favourites:
For our second shoot, he wanted us to shoot pictures that tell a story line. Though my team encountered some problems i.e. being stopped from photographing in Starbucks, and Giant hypermarket and not being able to find someone fishing, we managed to shoot a story each. I was rather dissappointed that he accepted the other team's shots though they didn't tell any story at all. They were all themed based only like a series of macro shots of things, pictures of rusty items, picture of people randomly doing what they're doing, pictures of the same shoe on different grounds etc. Probably he didnt wanna dissappoint them and also because their pictures look better. I think I'd have done better if I had a theme instead of a story line. My title was "An Afternoon At Starbucks". Here are the better shots from the series:
This Starbucks logo shot is a macro shot made by reversing the 50mm lense. It can only be done if the object is well lighted.
